PROJECT
THE CHANGEMAKERS.
The STEP-UP Project is a community health project which aims to subdue the increase of teenage pregnancy cases in Anilao, Iloilo through a positive developmental approach. Specifically it aims to make the teens more knowledgeable about adolescent and reproductive health, and inspire them to responsibly make decisions for their future.
The project is designed to be a three-step intervention to prevent further cases of teenage pregnancy. Each step will be satisfying a certain component objective/s that was conceptualized by the technical working group and the core group. Also under each step, there will be a list of activities that will be done in order to satisfy the objectives.
This project started from the initiative of a group of Public Health students from the University of the Philippines Visayas together with the local government unit of Anilao. The first prototype of this project will be done in barangay Cag-an, Anilao which has the highest cases of teenage pregnancy during the year 2016.

The people behind this project
Jc Belle Anasario
The all-powerful yet understanding Madam of the team. She leads the group and is tasked to sort out even the most difficult of situations. She spends most of her time dedicating her life (charot) not only helping the community but also trying to understand how the lives of the people in the community work.
Kent Paolo Ilogon
The most enthusiastic of them all. Kent always seems to keep a positive attitude during group meetings and of course, during the team’s activities. He also does everything he can do in order for the events scheduled to be successful.
Yzabel Espanol
She is the finance manager of the group. She is in charge of keeping and budgeting the money so the team doesn’t spend it all in one go. When she is not in her uniform, she is usually seen donning Korean fashion inspired outfits.
Gabrielle Catalan
Gab is the elder sister of the team. When something isn’t right, she usually does something about it until all is well again. She is also the person behind the breath-taking photos of the not only of the community and its people, but also the members of the team.
Geeza Gem Vicencio
She is the creative director of the group and is the one behind the team’s logo. She is also responsible for very beautiful blog of the team. Geeza likes cute things like kittens and small animals. Her fashion sense is always on point and her make-up skills are off the top.
Mabelle Leoncio
The Artista ng Bayan. The Pretty Gurl. Everywhere she goes, the world suddenly seems to become a better place. She loves food and somehow always gets a discount or an extra shanghai roll in Jollibee. Because of her overflowing charm, she is often tasked to recruit participants for the team’s activities.
Femmy Rose Caliso
Also known as Ateng, Fem is the mediator of the group, the one who keeps the team grounded. Ateng is likes online shopping especially when it comes to make-up. She also likes listening to KPOP and watching korean dramas on her spare time.

Nina Charlyn Alba
Also known as the “Team Mama”, Nina, more fondly known by the team as Manens, ensures the health and welfare of the team. She specializes in cooking vegetables and is often spotted in front of the television watching teleseryes and the likes. She is close friends with Madam JC and they are often seen playing together.
Mike Toledo
The most huggable member of the group. Also known as “Team Papa”, Mike is always there to speak up and set things in order when everything seems to go downhill. Either that or he just laughs it off. Nevertheless, he has never failed to provide for the team especially when it comes to food and internet connection.
Seth Exequiel Bautista
He is depicted as the joker of the group. Seth likes to crack jokes every now and then in an effort to raise the team’s mood. He is also usually the one who hangs out and talks to the members of the community out of the blue. He is also dubbed as the cook of the teams and never fails to surprise with his creations.
